【摘要】:Bothsuppliersandusersofadvancedceramicscanbenefitfromknowledgeofthesurfaceareaofthesematerials.Resultsofmanyintermediateandfinalprocessingstepsarecontrolledby,orrelatedto,specificsurfaceareaoftheadvancedceramic.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationofsurfaceareaofadvancedceramicmaterials.Thistestmethodspecifiesgeneralproceduresthatareapplicabletomanycommercialphysicaladsorptioninstruments.Thistestmethodprovidesspecificsampleoutgassingproceduresforlistedmaterials,includingsiliconcarbide,siliconnitride,andzirconiumoxide.Itincludesadditionalgeneraloutgassinginstructionsforotheradvancedceramicmaterials.ThemultipointequationofBrunauer,EmmettandTeller(BET)alongwiththesinglepointapproximationoftheBETequationformthebasisforallcalculations.1.2Thistestmethoddoesnotincludeallexistingproceduresappropriateforoutgassingadvancedceramicmaterials.Theincludedproceduresprovidedacceptableresultsforsamplesanalyzedduringroundrobintesting.Theinvestigatormustdeterminetheappropriatenessoflistedprocedures.1.3ThistestmethodusesSIunitsasstandard.StateallnumericalvaluesintermsofSIunitsunlessspecificinstrumentationsoftwarereportssurfaceareausingalternateunits.Inthiscase,presentbothreportedandequivalentSIunitsinthefinalwrittenreport.Manyinstrumentsreportsurfaceareaasm2/g,insteadofusingcorrectSIunits(m2/kg).1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
