【摘要】:1GeneralThisBritishStandardgivesrecommendationsontheuseofinformationtechnology(IT)todeliverassessmentstocandidatesandtorecordandscoretheirresponses.Itsscopeisdefinedintermsofthreedimensions:thetypesofassessmenttowhichitapplies,thestagesoftheassessment"lifecycle"towhichitappliesandthisBritishStandard'sfocusonspecificallyITaspects.2TypesofassessmentThisBritishStandardisrelevanttoawiderangeofassessments,including:—assessmentsusedineducation(bothcompulsoryandpost-compulsory),trainingandcompliance(e.g.compliancewithlegislationrelatingtohealthandsafetyorfinancialservices);—assessmentsofknowledge,understandingandskills(i.e."achievementtests"),butnotpsychologicaltestsofaptitudeandpersonality;—high-stakesassessmentsandexaminationsandalsolow-stakesassessmentsusedforfeedbackonprogress,identificationoflearningneeds,self-assessmentandremediation;—assessmentswhichincludefeedback,aswellasthosewhichprovideonlyaresult;—bothfixed-dateandon-demandassessments;—bothitemswhichcanbescoredbycomputerandthedelivery(butnotscoring)ofitemsortaskswhicharedeliveredusingIT,buthavetobereferredtoahumanmarkerforscoring;however,theuseofITforscoringlengthyfree-textresponses('essays"andsimilar)isexcluded;—awiderangeofcomputer-scorableassessments,includingnotonly"objectivetests"(multiple-choiceandotheritemtypes),butalsoassessmentsofkeyboardingskillsandsoftwareuse.NOTEItemscanincludegraphics,multimediaandaccesstodata,casestudiesetc.ThisBritishStandarddoesnot,however,covertheuseofspecialistsimulations(e.g.ofindustrialprocessesordriving/piloting).—assessmentstakeninuniversities,colleges,schoolsandassessmentcentresandalsoassessmentstakeninlessformalsettings,includinglearningcentresandintheworkplace;—assessmentswhichareset,takenandscoredwithinasingleorganization(forexampleauniversityoracompany)andassessmentstakeninanorganizationseparatefromtheoneresponsiblefortheassessmentcontent;—assessmentsdeliveredinavarietyofways,includingon-line,onlocalnetworksandonstand-alonecomputers.Clause9ofthisBritishStandardisalsoapplicabletotheuseofITforthetransmissionofcandidates'coursework.3AssessmentlifecycleAlthoughassessmentproceduresvary,thetypicallifecycleofassessmentconsistsofthefollowingsteps:a)identificationofneedtoassess;b)designofoutcomes/assessmentmethodology;c)preparationandcalibration;d)pre-registration(includespayment);e)distribution;f)authentication(includesidentification);g)delivery;h)responsereturn;i)scoring,resultdeterminationand/orfeedback;j)datareturn;k)analysis;1)appeals;m)certification.PreparationofassessmentcontentisoutsidethescopeofthisBritishStandard,butwherepretestingisundertakenusingITfordelivery,therelevantclausesofthisBritishStandardshouldbetakenintoconsideration.4FocusonspecificallyITaspectsTheemphasisthroughoutthisBritishStandardisontheadditionalordifferentmeasureswhichshouldbetakenasaresultoftheintroductionofIT.MeasureswhicharecommontobothpaperandIT-deliveredsystemsareeitheromittedorcoveredinonlygeneralterms.ThisBritishStandarddoesnotcoverthepurelypedagogicalaspectsofassessmentpreparationorscoring,butdoescovertheuseofITtoimplementpedagogicaldecisionsandtheinterfacebetweenassessmentcontentandITdelivery.Thequalityoftheassessmentcontentandthescoringproceduresareofcrucialimportancetothevalidityandreliabilityofthefinalresult,butfalloutsidethescopeofthisStandard.CompliancewiththisBritishStandarddoesnotindicatethattheassessment
